Type Foundry TermsBeta

Font licensing used to be simple: one typeface, one price, done. Today foundries charge by company size, pageviews, or app count, add surcharges for logo use, and separate web from desktop. Staying on top of this avoids costly surprises and licensing gaps.

Pricing Model

Desktop is counted by users (not computers); web and app each have their own metric, chosen at purchase.

Pricing basis
Desktop uses the metric number of users, not installs — each user may install on as many devices as needed. The base tier is 1–5 users. Web and app each use their own metric. The minimum web tier is 20,000 page views or 5,000 unique users; the app tier starts at 2,500 MAUs or downloads.
Who licenses
Klim recommends that the client purchases the desktop font licence and becomes the licence holder. Agencies may buy on a client's behalf but should not resell or profit from the licence.
Client
