Type Foundry TermsBeta

Font licensing used to be simple: one typeface, one price, done. Today foundries charge by company size, pageviews, or app count, add surcharges for logo use, and separate web from desktop. Staying on top of this avoids costly surprises and licensing gaps.

Pricing Model

Desktop is billed per user and location — web is separate, measured by pageviews.

Pricing basis
Desktop licenses are calculated based on the number of users (employees who install or have access to the font) and the number of locations. Classic model: anyone working with the font needs coverage. Web is measured separately by pageviews.
Who licenses
The licensing company. Agencies, partners, and freelancers working on behalf of a client need their own 3rd-party desktop license. Each commissioned party purchases separately, directly from Lineto.
Term
One-time payment, no subscription.
