Type Foundry TermsBeta

Font licensing used to be simple: one typeface, one price, done. Today foundries charge by company size, pageviews, or app count, add surcharges for logo use, and separate web from desktop. Staying on top of this avoids costly surprises and licensing gaps.

Pricing Model

Desktop is counted per computer; the media scope is set by choosing a Print or an All Uses license.

Pricing basis
Each Desktop license covers one computer — ten workstations means ten licenses. The permitted media depends on the chosen license: Print only, or All Uses. All variable fonts are also available as free trials with a reduced character set.
Who licenses
Each entity needs its own licenses. A client's project is not covered by the designer's licenses — the client needs their own.
Everyone
Term
One-time payment; the student license is a lifetime license including future updates.

Trial fonts
